If you're a regular reader on the blog, then it's no secret that I absolutely face masks. Swear by them. I  believe they are an essential item in a skincare routine, and as such have tried so many different sorts over the years.

There are so many different brands and masks - to suit all budgets and skin types - that I thought I'd round up my tried-and-tested favourites, to help you choose the right one for you!

The Little Alchemist Cacao & Banana Face Glow

This list isn't in any particular order, but the Cacao & Banana Face Glow mask has consistently been my favourite way to detox and clear my skin for a couple of years now. It contains Raw Cacao, Tumeric and Banana, as well as a host of other radiance-boosting ingredients to really get your circulation and glow on. Great for congestion (blackheads), acne, evening the skin tone, dullness.
I leave it on for 45-60mins (until fully dry) once a week for the ultimate smooth, glowing complexion.

Leahlani Skincare Kokoleka Ritual Dessert Mask / Use code LIBERTYGREEN15 to save 15% off

Another mask filled with chocolatey-goodness, Leahlani's Kokoleka is a real treat for the skin - and the senses. Although it still stars Cacao as the first ingredient, Kokoleka is quite different to the aforementioned Little Alchemist mask. Kokoleka contains Molokai black sea salt with activated coconut charcoal, to withdraw impurities and detoxify skin whilst replenishing it with the re-mineralization properties of Bohemian black fango clay. Mineral-rich black fango contains humic and fulvic acids, which act as food for the skin. Fulvic acid helps to rejuvenate cellular tissue, slowing down the ageing process. Fulvic acid also helps water to enter the cells, balancing hydration and mineral levels and increasing enzyme activity.

I really love this mask to boost circulation, clear and detox the skin, whilst being more gentle and leaving it silky-smooth.

Josh Rosebrook Cacao Antioxidant Mask

Continuing the chocolate theme, Josh Rosebrook's Cacao Antioxidant Mask would have to be another of my absolute favourites. Pre-mixed, this mask is quick and easy to apply.
This mask is designed to purify, firm and brighten the skin, and my complexion always looks amazing after using this mask. It's great for acne, congestion, last-lustre skin, firming, evening the skin tone and boosting circulation.

OSEA White Algae Mask

I had actually forgotten about this mask until recently (oops! Easy to do as a blogger though when there's always so many products to try, review etc), but I absolutely LOVED it. My skin looked incredible whilst using this - as in walk past a mirror and think "I don't remember putting makeup on today" - then realise you didn't kind of good.

This is pre-mixed creamy mask - it doesn't set hard like a clay-based mask, it will dry out and absorb but won't harden. This mask is designed to be anti-ageing, firming and brightening, and I certainly felt my skin was more plumped and firm with this in my routine. I did also find it great for keeping my skin clear. I used it overnight for the best results - and it's well worth it!

Leahlani Skincare Mermaid Mask / Use code LIBERTYGREEN15 to save 15% off

Leahlani's Mermaid Mask is something of a cult favourite, and not without good reason.
This hydrating emerald green goodness nourishes the skin with organic chlorella and organic spirulina and raw Hawaiian honey. It softens, hydrates, plumps and heals the skin.
I use up to 2-3 times a week, depending on how my skin feels.

Edible Beauty Australia Sleeping Beauty Purifying Mousse / Use code LIBERTYGREEN20 to save 20% off

Another of my must-have products, this mask firms and plumps the skin overnight, zapping blemishes, reducing redness and giving the skin an overall more healthy glow.

It will also help balance oil production, purify the skin (buh-bye congestion), deeply hydrate (you can skip moisturiser the nights you use this), accelerate healing and improve collagen and skin elasticity.
It also smells divine - like roses or turkish delight!

Earthwise Beauty Blackstrap Molasses Mask Use code LIBERTYGREEN15 to save 15% off

I feel as though I'm saying everything is my favourite, but this mask really is a great all-rounder.
It detoxes, purifies, brightens pigmentation, fights acne and is anti-ageing and firming.

Again pre-mixed, I love the ease of application. You are supposed to keep it in the fridge for maximum shelf life, and I love applying the cool mask - especially if my skin is acting up! It really does work wonders.

Girl Undiscovered Stumbled Across Paradise Face Mask

Girl Undiscovered is a relatively little-known about brand from New Zealand. It currently has only three products in the line, including this gorgeous mask, and everything comes in the most (really, most stunning ever!) stunning packaging.

The Stumbled Across Paradise Face Mask will exfoliate, hydrate, plump and heal the skin. I love using it as a quick boost 2-3 times a week by applying it 15mins before a shower, then letting it soften in the steam, adding a few drops of water to massage it in and thoroughly exfoliate, before rinsing off at the last minute. It contains Burmese thanaka to boost collagen production and enhance skin elasticity. It is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, able to repair problematic skin, reduce redness and dry skin, as well as draw out impurities.

Pure Kanuka Honey is high in antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and contains antibacterial properties.

A beautiful all-round skin healing, plumping mask & exfoliant.

La Bella Figura Purifying Manuka Honey Mask

This mask is brilliant for all skin types (especially oily and acne-prone skin) but also good for drier or skin sensitive to dry clay-based masks. Designed to clear the complexion, congestion and control sebum production, I love using this 1-2 a week for the ultimate glow. The Raw Manuka Honey base hydrates and heals, whilst tumeric, gotu kola, white willow bark powder, Amazonian White clay and Rhassoul Clay withdraw impurities, fight inflammation, speed healing and promote collagen production.

Let me know what mask/s you've been loving in the comments below (or over on Instagram) and if you have any questions at all you can pop them below.
