Sometimes it still surprises me how far green beauty has come in the last few years. The choice now is so great, it can almost be overwhelming, and there really is very few things you can't find a natural, non-toxic alternative to. Just a few years ago (we're talking 4-6yrs), I had to purchase everything I wanted from the USA. There wasn't much choice in Australia yet, and green beauty was just beginning to bloom.

With that in mind, I think it's only fitting that my first post for 2017 recap on the best in (green) beauty releases for 2016, and also the best new (Australian) launches/releases.
This was actually a difficult post to put together, narrowing down the selection. Still, I've managed to keep the shortlist under a dozen (I deserve a medal).

Best New (Global) Releases

Kjaer Weis Lipsticks
This was a highly anticipated release. Launched with 5 classic shades.
Kjaer Weis is the epitome of eco-luxury. With incredibly high-performance, Eco-Cert formulas and refillable packaging (yes, even the lipsticks and mascara are refillable), you can't get much better than this.

La Mav BB Cream & Primer
La Mav is Australia's first organic BB Cream, and I love the formula, coverage and finish (it's brilliant!!) The only down side for me was the single shade (medium). Whilst it does adjust to the skin tone somewhat (works well for my sister with medium w/olive undertone skin sister, and for my mum with medium-tan olive skin), it doesn't adjust that much. Late 2016, La Mav released the new LIGHT shade. So exciting!
La Mav also released their new Bio Active Primer, which provides the perfect smooth, silky base for make-up application. There aren't many natural primers on the market, so this was also exciting (I'll be sharing more about this soon!)

W3LL People Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer
I was thrilled with this release. The new W3LL People Concealer is a dream for under the eyes. It also works well for blemish coverage, but in my kit, the main use is eyes. eyes. eyes. Sets like a dream, corrects and balances darkness and brightens. You NEED.

Best New Australian Launches

14e Cosmetics
This brand launched in Australia just a few months ago. It's an amazing, light weight formula available in both a Sheer Tint and medium-coverage Foundation.

Leahlani Skincare
This was also a highly anticipated release. Beautiful skincare, 100% natural and so effective.
I've got a few favourites from this line, and was absolutely thrilled when Eve Organics launched the line in Australia!

Innersense Organic Beauty
Again I jumped for joy at this Australian release. Amazing hair care and styling products. You'll LOVE them, trust me.

Worthy Mentions & My Personal Favourite New Launches & Product Releases

Just a few other of my favourite things to have been released this year and/or launched in Australia, worthy of a mention!

Kypris Glow Philtre Mask
This mask leaves my skin so plump, hydrated and feeling amazing. I use a weekly detox mask, but this is gorgeous to give my skin some deep hydration, firming and softening. More on this to come!

Nu Evolution
Dubbed the MAC of green beauty, Nu Evolution launched at I Am Natural Store mid-2016. High-performance, 100% non-toxic and natural cosmetics.

Mahalo Skincare
Another amazing luxury brand to launch in Australia last year was Mahalo. The formulas are 100% natural and Certified Organic where available. I've been using the Rare Indigo Balm for some time now - it's divine! More to come on that soon, but if you've been hanging out to get your hands on this brand, you can find it here.

Little Ondine
Last, but certainly not least, Little Ondine is FINALLY available in Australia.
No more crazy international shipping or having to combine orders. Flora & Fauna is also carrying a brilliant range of shades, and the Twin Sets!

I'd love to know if any of these products were a favourite for you in 2016, and what the standout was for in out of all the incredible new releases? Let me know down below, or over on instagram!
