Leahlani Skincare is a small-batch natural skincare line, lovingly created in Hawaii, and available for the first time exclusively from Eve Organics in Australia.

The ingredients include only the highest quality, purest cold-pressed and organic oils, mineral rich clays, therapeutic essential oils and whole wild-crafted fruits. Leahlani Skincare is one of those brands that has a lot of buzz about it in the green beauty world, and although I don't buy into 'hype', I was thrilled when it arrived on Australian shores.

I could easily experiment with the entire line, but I began with the Champagne Serum and Mermaid Mask (not pictured, as it was only a sample size)

Leahlani Skincare Champagne Serum Review

Despite being described as "happy hour for your skin", I've been using the Champagne Serum mostly in the morning (I wanted to see how it went under make-up) One pump is all I need for my entire face and neck, applied to damp skin.

The Leahlani Champagne Serum is quite a thin oil, yet my skin drinks it in, leaving my complexion soft and supple. Underneath make-up, it performs beautifully. As the serum absorbs so deeply without leaving a residue or trace of oiliness, it provides a silky base for make-up, without being too emollient, or giving too much slip to the skin. If I do want a more dewy look, however, I'll simply use a little more, or apply make-up sooner after applying the serum.

The Champagne Serum is very soothing - any redness or inflammation is soothed and reduced, and if applied in the evening, I wake up to find any inflammation calmed, and my skin tone overall is more even. My skin has also been so soft since I began using this, and more hydrated (I'm using just this in the morning + one other oil/moisturiser in the evening).

It is absolutely beautiful on the skin, and I'm loving the results of a softer, calmer, smoother complexion.

Packaging & Ingredients

The Leahlani Champagne Serum is packaged in a frosted glass bottle with pump dispenser and cap. I really love frosted or clear glass for my skincare, so I can see exactly how much is remaining - plus look at the amazing colour! I also absolutely love the gold detailing (completely irrelevant to anything other than decorative purposes, but gold. Need I say more?)

I usually prefer a glass dropper for oils and serums, but the size and style of the pump is actually perfect. I can dispense as much as I like, and it doesn't expose the oil to air (which can cause oxidisation) and is also pretty much spill-proof.

The Leahlani Skincare Champagne Serum contains a blend of certified organic oils, lavender, chamomile and rose geranium to balance, calm and soothe the skin, whilst strengthening skin elasticity. You can find the full list of ingredients here.

Leahlani Skincare Mermaid Mask Review

I only had a sample size of this, and I'm not ashamed to admit - I couldn't wait to photograph the Mermaid Mask before trying it out, so you'll have to content yourself with the beautiful photo of the full-size jar here.

The glistening emerald green Mermaid Mask is a gentle purifying and soothing mask. Whilst I love a good detoxing clay mask, the skin also needs gentler treatments, and some days a soothing mask is precisely what my skin needs. With a blend of certified organic raw honey, spirulina and chlorella, alongside pure clay, sea algae, sea buckthorn and botanical absolutes, this mask is incredibly restorative and calming on the skin.

Leahlani's spirulina comes from a farm on the pristine Hawaiian coast that draws on the natural resources that surround it – abundant warm sunlight, pure deep ocean water and 100% fresh water from a Hawaiian aquifer. The spirulina is grown in a bio-secure zone and uses an ocean chill drying method. Leahlani use the cleanest, purest source of organic chlorella on the planet, which is grown in outdoor pools under the sunlight and contains cell walls that are "opened" or "cracked" using a unique process that preserves nutrients and increases absorption.

Although it is a 'wet' mask (ie already hydrated), due to the raw honey the Mermaid Mask is quite thick in consistency right from the jar, and needs to be thinned a little before application. I used a 2-3 sprays of a hydrating facial mist, and mixed with a mask brush before applying.

I leave the mask on for 20-30mins, or until it feels ready to remove. This isn't a clay or creamy mask, so it doesn't dry or set during the treatment time, although my skin does absorb some of the moisture from the honey.

After removing, my skin felt so soft, plump, soothed and smooth, and an all-over radiance. Like the Leahlani Champagne Serum, I find the Leahlani Mermaid Mask very soothing and anti-inflammatory. I enjoyed alternating this between detox/clay masks, to hydrate my skin as well as cleanse.

I'm actually in love with both the Mermaid Mask and Champagne Serum, and am planning to try more from Leahlani Skincare. My skin has been so happy with both of these products - soft, smooth and calm - and I plan to get my hands on a full-size Mermaid Mask soon!

If you've tried Leahlani I'd love to know what you recommend or your favourites are!
