Axiology Beauty Organic Lipsticks in Noble, Elusive & Vibration Review

Sunday, August 20, 2017

I fell in love with Axiology Beauty the moment I laid eyes on it. The beautiful matte gold tubes (which feature a fun push-button closure), rich and unique colours paired with 100% natural ingredients (many are Certified Organic). There are no synthetic pigments used - all are entirely naturally sourced. The entire line is Vegan as well as Cruelty Free.

And the chic boxes are sustainably made from recycled paper. Axiology Beauty offer solely lip products - initially just lipsticks, they've recently launched a range of lip crayons too.

Organic Candelilla Wax, Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Avocado Butter, Organic Grape Seed Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Elderberry Extract, Sweet Orange Oil; May Contain: Iron Oxide, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Manganese Violet.

Organic Ingredients, Cruelty-Free.

The lipsticks themselves are smooth and buttery. They glide onto the lips like silk, and are all quite intensely pigmented.

I've tried a lot of lipsticks, and none have quite the same buttery, silkiness that Axiology's lipsticks do. The colour builds well, applies evenly and lasts well. The three colours I've tried all leave behind a stain on the lips too. Because they are so buttery, the only thing I have found is that on first application, if you don't press the colour into the lips or blot the excess off, the lipstick does settle around the edges of the lips. The colour doesn't bleed onto the skin, but to ensure even application blotting or pressing the colour into the lips with a finger is required.

Once you've blotted, the colour does last hours without needing to be touched up, and is very moisturising.

Elusive is my favourite of all the shades.
It's described as a burgundy-drenched tone.

To me, I would describe it as an earthy, rusty orange-red. It has quite a rusty brown undertone, so it's more muted and warmer than your classic red. I think it would work for almost any skin tone.

I love it and think it always looks very chic and effortless, especially paired with little else (I've just done a wingled liner here) and it works well for all seasons. Elusive also works equally as well for a night out as it does a morning spent running errands.

The creamiest of all three shades, it is also the most opaque and has a semi-matte cream finish.
It stains very well and if you blot after application, you can touch up just by patting the lipstick onto your lips if needed, but otherwise it stays pretty put.

Noble is a semi-sheer lipstick with a glossy finish.
It is described as a succulent, hybrid peach-pink tone.

This is definitely a very peachy, almost coral shade of lipstick. The colour remains semi sheer even if you build it up. It's very fresh and fun, again a colour that would look good on a variety of skin tones.

Axiology Lipstick in Vibration / SHOP use code LIBERTYGREEN to save 10% off your first order

Vibration is a matte cream lipstick, with a pearly finish.
Described as a scarlet wash with a glint of pink.

It's quite a deep, reddish-pink. Vibration is a pretty alternative to bold, bright shades. The pearlescent finish is subtle, not over-the-top metallic, adding a beautiful sheen and dimension to the lips. This colour is also gorgeous applied just lightly to the lips.

Like Elusive, Vibration is also a fully opaque, creamy lipstick.

Sienna Byron Bay "Courage"

I've talked about nail polish often on the blog, and there are only two brands I use. Nail polish is never going to be organic or even natural. I wrote a post a while back about nail polish, the ingredients you need to be avoiding and included a fairly comprehensive list of the main "non toxic" brands out there, along with why I do only use water-based brand Little Ondine, and Sienna Byron Bay for 'regular' nail polish.

I've also written numerous reviews on Sienna Byron Bay, so if you'd like to have a read (and see some other shades in action), pop over here.

The A/W17 Collection features warm, autumnal tones, muted neutrals, and their most recent charity collaboration, which is a vibrant, glittering pink/red (Dorothy-shoes style).

You can shop Sienna Byron Bay with code LIBERTYGREEN to save 15% off your order any time.

My favourite shade from the collection is undoubtedly 'Courage' (pictured wearing it in both photographs in this post). It's the prettiest paprika / terracotta / orange / red shade that has a retro vibe and look amazing with anything. I do like wearing different colours, but more often than not I end up going for a classic red, or a mid - light shade of pink. Courage is a really lovely option for something different than your classic red and I'm quite obsessed with it.

The other shades from the collection are:

  • Shadow a deep, muted blue with slight purple undertones
  • Artisan a rich golden mustard yellow
  • Calm a stoney clay tone, works beautifully as an alternative nude
  • Nurture more richly pigmented than Stone, and with less grey, this is a soft, dusty mauve tone

There is then also Sienna Byron Bay's Charity Collaborations.

This stunning raspberry red glitter-bomb polish is for Heartfelt Homes, with 100% of proceeds going to the charity.

Heartfelt Homes is an Australian charity providing support to families in need, while their loved ones are in hospital undergoing medical treatment. Heartfelt Homes provides accommodation close by to hospitals, so family members can properly rest after long days spent in the hospital. All the funds raised by Heartfelt Homes goes directly into providing rooms for as many nights as possible for families. Read more about Heartfelt Homes here.
