Lily Lolo BB Cream Review (in Light)

No matter what look I'm creating, I'm all about that fresh, clean, dewy base. I like to have a few different coverage options, depending on the finish I desire, the weather, and of course, the occasion.

I don't always wear a full face of make-up, and most days, I'm bare-skinned or just want a light coverage. The Lily Lolo BB Cream is light-as-air on the skin, and the finish is so natural it is barely detectable - but not in the sense that you don't get the coverage you desire. It merely blends so seamlessly with the skin, and feels so light, you wouldn't know you are wearing make-up!

Lily Lolo is a UK Mineral Make-up brand, with high-performance, high quality products that are light, non-irritating, completely non-toxic - not to mention give a beautiful, flawless finish. Most of the Lily Lolo products are also Vegan-friendly.

Shade, Coverage, Formula & Finish

With organic aloe and jojoba oil, the Lily Lolo BB Cream is moisturising for the skin, but not oily, and gives a luminous, satin finish.

The coverage is light, but can be built up to medium with a concealer & powder. I love how lightweight this feels on the skin - some liquid products can feel a bit heavy or oily, but the Lily Lolo BB Cream sets very quickly and you wouldn't even know you had it on!

The Lily Lolo BB Cream evens the skin tone, blurs pores and imperfections, corrects redness and provides a healthy, luminous finish. This also lasts all day without becoming patchy, oily or fading.

I chose the shade Light which is described as for Light - Medium skin tones.
That's me, and Light is a perfect match! The tone is a bit yellow, but it adjusts and blends with the skin tone perfectly.

The formula is silicone-free, non-comedogenic, and non-irritating. You can find the ingredients here.

Application & Packaging

I love all of the Lily Lolo packaging. The sleek black & white matte finish feels so chic, and a little bit luxe! The BB Cream comes in a gorgeous white and black box, and the product itself is packaged in a white tube with a black pump and cap. I love that the pump dispenses the perfect amount of product (1-2 pumps is sufficient!), and the cap prevents accidentally dispensing product whilst in your make-up bag or travelling.

Speaking of, the packaging, size and sleekness of this BB Cream makes it absolutely perfect for tossing in your beach or gym bag, and its so easy to blend and apply you could do it on the go.

You are supposed to use your fingertips to blend the Lily Lolo BB Cream, however, after dotting the cream around my face, I use the MOTD Cosmetics Beauty & The Base (Foundation) Brush to blend. I simply prefer a brush, although you can still use your fingertips.

The cream dries/sets as you blend it out, and at first I thought it was going to be streaky, but as it sets, I get a flawlessly blended, seamless finish, that looks just like my skin, but better!

As the coverage is light, you can also use the Lily Lolo BB Cream underneath a mineral powder or other foundation for extra coverage and a smooth base. It almost doubles as a primer.

Overall

I love just putting this on with a touch of setting powder, and blush for an easy, fresh-faced look. I'm also looking forward to making this a staple come summer when the weather is so humid that anything cream or oil based feels like it will melt off the skin. The Lily Lolo BB Cream is so lightweight and sets well I think it will be a lifesaver!

If you're after a lightweight, light coverage natural foundation or BB Cream, you will love the Lily Lolo BB Cream. You can shop Lily Lolo in Australia from Beautiful Because, and save 10% off your first order with discount code MEGSY10.

  1. The only thing keeping me from trying this is the lack of SPF :/ I am just too lazy to apply sunscreen and tint separately most days, so for now I will have to stick to my suntegrity and hope that LL considers making a version with SPF!

  2. If you're after a tinted moisturiser or BB Cream with SPF, Josh Rosebrook has a Tinted Day Cream w/SPF 30 (http://bit.ly/1TKAoAs), and ILIA Beauty also have a BB Cream w/SPF 20, as well as a Tinted Moisturiser w/SPF 20 (http://bit.ly/1WxugBq).

I've tried samples of the ILIA Tinted Moisturiser before and it is also absolutely lovely, and offers great light coverage with a dewy finish.
