Current Skincare Ritual

Want to see what's in my current skincare ritual?
I'm sharing everything below, from the new additions to old favourites - the products that have taken my normal skin type (with hormonal breakouts) from dull, congested and stressed-out, to evenly toned, clear and glowing (most days, haha!).

My skin is by no means perfect, and I still get those pesky hormonal breakouts, although considerably lessened (or environmental - I react awfully to mosquito bites and they seem to love me!) but it looks pretty great most days and I'm quite pleased with how healthy it is now.

I haven't included body-care in this post, because it would be too long, and I've decided to include my other skincare tips and tricks, along with my favourite masks, in a separate post.

So, what am I using?

Cleansers

Rosehip Plus Organic Daily Cream Cleanser (review coming soon)

This rich, creamy cleanser is luscious in texture and gentle on the skin. Removes all of my make-up with ease and leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. This one is also Australian Certified Organic, PETA Approved, and pretty easy on the budget at just $14.95 for 150ml!

I've only started using this a few weeks ago, and my review will be live soon!

Blissoma Fresh Mild Rice Cleanser (read review)

I began using this a few months ago and love it. It's quite nicely priced at a mid-range $43.95 for 118ml, and is so effective. Based on oil-cleansing, this light, creamy formula also provides a light exfoliant from the brown rice, drawing out dirt, oil and impurities, leaving my skin feeling unbelievably fresh and cleansed. This cleanser is my absolute favourite and made such a difference to my skin! My skin looks so much 'cleaner' and more evenly toned since I began using this. A must-have.

Edible Beauty &Desert Lime Flawless Micro-Exfoliant (read review)

This exfoliant leaves my skin unbelievably smooth and glowing - removing any dead skin and I also find blemishes heal faster when I'm using this! Gentle enough to use every night, this is one effective exfoliant. It can also double as a cleanser on lazy nights and removes all of my make-up. This is my favourite exfoliant and keeps my skin so healthy!

Edible Beauty is certified organic, plant-based and only includes ingredients safe enough to EAT.

After cleansing in the evening, it is on to treatment and moisturising!

Edible Beauty Citrus Rhapsody No.2 Tonique (read review)

This facial mist/toner is beautifully hydrating, and I apply this after a shower and before applying any other product. I also use this to set/refresh my make-up or bare skin throughout the day. It is also wonderful to cool and calm the skin after a mask treatment!

Earthwise Beauty Green Leaves & Co Facial Oil (read review)

This oil is one of the items that has made the biggest differences to my skin. Overnight, I saw my skin transform into a clear, radiant complexion. The Earthwise oil has also really helped lessen the severity of any hormonal breakouts and my skin looks so much healthier since I began using this.

Edible Beauty &Coco Bliss Intensive Repair (read review)

I didn't expect a cream to make such a difference to my skin, but I noticed my skin was immediately more plump, firm and hydrated when I began using this. The Coco Bliss is super lightweight, sinks in quickly and does not have any of that heavy, suffocating feeling creams usually have. A little also goes a very long way, and this jar has lasted my a few months will nightly use.

Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalising Concentrate (review coming soon)

I don't really have any fine lines or wrinkles yet, but I've been using this light serum under my eyes to help combat dark circles from tired eyes, and it does firm and plump the delicate skin and my smile lines are visibly reduced. Used every night, I've noticed my dark circles are reduced and my skin is firmer and my eyes appear more 'awake'.

Morning

In the mornings I keep things simple with a light oil that works under make-up, or just keeps my bare skin hydrated.

Whilst at the higher end of the price scale, this oil has been a staple for a few years for good reason. Ultra lightweight, this gives my skin a petal-soft feel and gives a lovely glow alone or under make-up. used regularly, my skin is calmer, more even and radiant. I alternate between this and pure rosehip oil.

Cold-pressed, 100% pure and certified organic, the Rosehip Plus oil is lightweight, nourishing and helps fight fine lines and wrinkles, combat blemishes and calm my skin. This also gives my skin a lovely glow, and I use it alone or under make-up, after a mask or to remove eye make-up!

I have a few other items I've recently begun using or I'm trialling, but I'll be talking about those later, and I'll also follow this post up with my favourite masks and what I do internally for skincare!

Would you like this to become a regular feature? (updated about every 3-4mths) Let me know your thoughts! What's in your current skincare rotation? Share below or tag me (@megsyjaneau) in your post on instagram so I can see!
