Weleda Skin Food Review

recently wrote about the Weleda goodies I received, and today I'm reviewing the Weleda Skin Food.

If you missed the first post, you can read more about Weleda here.
The Weleda Skin Food is deeply nourishing and hydrating all-over body cream that protects and restores your skin. The award-winning formula has remained unchanged since it was first created in 1926!
With ingredients such as  Sunflower Oil, Chamomile Extract, Calendula Extract, Sweet Almond Oil and Beeswax, the Weleda Skin Food is one skin-loving formula, that combats rough and dry skin.
The consistency is slightly sticky, and its almost between a cream and a wax - but rest assured, if you don't over-do it, the stickiness dissipates very quickly.

Application

I'm not usually one for heavier style creams, but I've been using this on my legs post-shave and my crazy-sensitive skin has been loving it.
As someone who previously has barely been able to shave without extreme irritation, this has been a godsend. I haven't need to re-apply the next morning, either, which I usually have to with other moisturisers. My skin still feels hydrated next day!
The temperatures here have been reaching 35 degrees (Celsius) and above this Summer (and no air-con, either), and it's been both extremely humid and very dry. If I'm not wearing make-up, my skin tends to feel dehydrated, so I've even been using the Weleda Skin Food on my face
I initially used it on my face solely for the hydrating properties,
but this has given my skin a beautiful even tone - reducing redness and healing any blemishes much faster. Who knew?! At a time when my skin has been acting up and feeling stressed, this has been such a relief.
I haven't tried it, and wouldn't recommend it under make-up - for that I prefer something like the RMS Beauty Oil or Rosehip Oil, that is going to hydrate, whilst providing your skin with a lovely slip.
So definitely keep the facial application to make-up free days, or overnight.

Overall

This is a brilliant balm for any skin troubles, and has been so soothing and healing.
If you struggle to keep your skin hydrated, I highly recommend the Weleda Skin Food.
Pure, powerful ingredients, and the price isn't bad.
Will I re-purchase? Definitely - but you need so little, and it's so effective, that I can't see myself having to replace for a few months yet.

You can purchase Weleda online from Nourished Life (ships world wide), Beautiful Because or Weleda.
